FlashLite isn’t a torch
Written by Meraj Chhaya on May 10, 2008 – 10:28 pm
In a thread at MyADSL I just noticed that some people might get confused over Flash or FlashLite, and this isn’t laughing matter.
As you can see in this post, we were speaking about updating firmware with Nokia Software Updater, and one of the members was aware that if he updated his phone, he would get FlashLite. Now if you speak about FlashLite to someone who isn’t much aware of web services, they will obviously think of a lantern or an torch, although we know that this FlashLite isn’t Flash Light, it’s used as a mobile version of Macromedia Flash, where FlashLite 3 is equivalent to Flash 9 if I’m not mistaken.
FlashLite 3 enables new animations and such content to run on phones, a great example of that is Flash Video players such as the ones YouTube uses.
