I once had the opportunity to unite the most wanted Nokia smartphones in the world, but now CNET Asia had the chance to unite the current top smartphones: The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, the HTC Touch Diamond, and the Apple iPhone. My comparison table and verdict after the jump, as well as your desired comments.

The iPhone clearly has the worst network potential, while the XPERIA X1 will work in almost anywhere in the world. When it comes to the display, the X1 is the winner again thanks to the resolution, although the iPhone has the biggest screen, as well as the most colours.
All devices have WLAN and Bluetooth, although on the iPhone, the Bluetooth can only be used for the headset, something which quite don’t understand.
While the HTC and X1 run on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, the iPhone brings Apple’s own MAC OS X. The iPhone has the fastest CPU at 620MHz, while the other two remain at 528MHz CPUs made by Qualcomm, although different models. The Xperia has the most RAM at 256MB, while the iPhone has the least at 128MB.
Both the HTC and SE have HSDPA at 7.2mbps, built-in GPS with A-GPS, and a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, while the iPhone doesn’t have HSDPA or GPS, and it has a lousy 2 megapixel camera.
The clear winner for me when it comes to features, is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. Things may change when I get them for a review.
