Which HTC to buy?

Written by Meraj Chhaya on June 29, 2008 – 1:17 pm

I grabbed one of the HTC flyers comparing some of the already-released phones, in terms of specifications. I decided to transform it into a table for you to judge which one is preferable to you.

HTC S710 HTC TYTN II HTC Touch Dual HTC P3400
Dimensions 101.5×50x17.7mm 112×59x19mm 107×55x15.8mm 109×58x17.6mm

Secondary Camera VGA CMOS CIF CMOS
GPS No Yes, Mapping Software not included. No No

It is quite clear that the TYTN II is the best in every single way, but it’s also the heaviest one, and depending on your country, it should be the most expensive HTC at the moment as well. The S710 doesn’t have a touchscreen unlike all it’s brothers, no GPS, no 3G, has the smallest display, and the slowest processor. The P3400 doesn’t have GPS, has a slow processor like the S710, and has Windows Mobile 5, while the rest has Windows Mobile 6.

Siemens to cut 17200 jobs

Written by M. Hussein on June 29, 2008 – 2:58 am

you_are_fired-300x227 Siemens to cut 17200 jobs

When I read the news I said “WooW”, the crisis is real, the big ones aren’t doing anything and even with my “woow”, I always knew that things like this would begin happening because a company can’t borrow money always or can’t sell their own stocks if they don’t have them.

Listen to me: We are Done!

At Monday it is very probable to see Siemens stocks down here in Europe and in USA, but I hope the market, in general will plunge up, as we are totally oversold.

E71, E90, N95 8GB, iPhone comparison

Written by Meraj Chhaya on June 28, 2008 – 9:52 pm

Boy Genius Report has taken pictures where it compares the Nokia E71 against a Nokia N95 8GB and an Apple iPhone. Carol Chen, a friend of mine and a Software Engineer at Nokia, took some pictures to compare the Nokia E71 with a Nokia E90. The results are rather impressive and you can see that the E71 is really, really thin, those 10mm look nothing compared to phones like the E90 and the N95 8GB. All the pictures and a table comparing these four phones after the jump.

Windows Mobile Total Access

Written by Meraj Chhaya on June 28, 2008 – 8:55 pm

I received an email about the new name for Windows Mobile Owners Circle, which is Windows Mobile Total Access. I am not aware of what the Owners Circle was about, but the Total Access campaign features ringtones, wallpapers, themes, tips, forums, games, software, everything for free. It’s like the S60 website, but for Windows Mobile devices, and I think it’s a good bet from Microsoft by enlarging their support not only for business users, but also average consumers. Only one problem: it appears to be only available for the US.

Pre-order iPhone 3G on Vodacom (South Africa)

Written by Meraj Chhaya on June 27, 2008 – 6:01 pm

I was checking my balance on Vodacom’s website when I noticed this campaign for the iPhone 3G. Really clever marketing plan, they are already taking pre-orders for the Apple iPhone 3G here in South Africa, and even differentiating between contracts. But one thing people didn’t know: the Apple iPhone 3G might be available in prepaid, that means, no contracts.
