Sony Ericsson Linda with more details
Written by Meraj Chhaya on July 3, 2008 – 10:45 am
We know few things: It’s mid-end, it’s coming September 2008 and it’s codenamed Linda. A very blurry picture confirms that the phone is a slider, and it should be Walkman Series as it has earphones around it. There is a 3.2 megapixel camera, and a 2.2″ QVGA (240×320) display.

P.S. - For some reason there was a confusion between the codename Linda and Alicia, it’s Linda! Sorry about that.

Nokia Email Service brings push email
Written by Meraj Chhaya on July 3, 2008 – 10:31 am
Apple came up with MobileMe for the Apple iPhone 3G, but it charges for it. In this current beta, Nokia allows free email pushing on its service. All you need is your own POP3 or IMAP4 account. This means you don’t have to open another email account, or look for settings, because the service will do it for you, atleast that’s what it did with my GMail account, I just signed up few seconds ago.
You can’t use Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite at the same time, and your email travels through SSL connections for added security.
A must try if your your country doesn’t impose crazy data rates like the one I’m living does. The service allows all ESeries and few NSeries, go check if yours is available!

O2 XDA Vista doesn’t do Vista, not from O2 either
Written by Meraj Chhaya on July 3, 2008 – 10:14 amWhat might look like a mixture between Nokia and HTC is what it looks like, but of course, made in China, truly counterfeit. And besides having Vista as its name, it actually runs on Windows Mobile 6, that too most probably unlicensed. China phones are usually cheap, but this copycat will cost you about US$510!
The interesting features and another image after the jump.

Vodacom taking Opera Mini’s job
Written by Meraj Chhaya on July 3, 2008 – 3:06 am
There are has been a war out there thanks to Vodacom. Before I dive into this, let me remind of Opera Mini. You the extremely popular Java web browser don’t you? Before displaying a web page, it sends it through a proxy so that the page you receive is at its minimum, and if you wish, without images. Well Vodacom in South Africa is starting to do this as well, against most consumers’ wishes to have original web browsing.
Besides including publicity on web pages and continuing with the ridiculous R2/MB rate (convert here), they have posed restrictions on phones. Their reason:
The vast majority of websites on the internet were designed to display a large amount of content and requires a large, high resolution screen (such as a PC monitor) to display it correctly. Most of these websites will make a statement such as “Best viewed on 1024 x 768″ at the bottom of the Home page.
In turn, the vast majority of cell phone browsers are not able to properly display these pages and thus make them difficult to use from the mobile device.
While some content providers and handset manufacturers have attempted to address this by either building custom “mobile-formatted” pages or more modern browsers into the newer, high-end phones that can browse these sites, the vast majority of sites and phones still do not support this.
How to remove it? Disable the proxies. More detail after the jump.
