Our review comes to an end, as we elaborate our final thoughts on whether to purchase a N810 or not, and discuss the reasons behind our decisions.

After few weeks of enjoying the N810, I came to a conclusion: it’s not worth it, not in South Africa atleast, where you rarely find any free WiFi hotspot, and using the HSDPA from your phone will cost you the earth if you don’t have those data bundles, which are too expensive anyway.

One thing is sure, the N810 and the Maemo platform are full of potential, and if you have read the news lately, there is a step-by-step guide to install Google Android on the device. With these kinds of continuous hacks, in the future you might be able to install sleek User Interfaces, such as the one found in Canola. But this isn’t the only reason: just after I returned the tablet, Nokia released the A-GPS installation file. This means much faster GPS locks, and it will actually let you enjoy the GPS instead of suffering from the lack of co-ordinate fixing.

There are many more features than components that we see missing, and the OS is full of useful applications. The N810 is a Tablet not very far from perfect, and by comparing it to its few competitors, it’s the best around. We feel that if these tiny glitches are fixed, Nokia can be quite successful in the Internet Tablet market.

Will it be worth in other countries? It depends on hotspots availability, as after all, the N810 is focused on internet.
