Sony Ericsson K850i review – Introduction
Written by Meraj Chhaya on August 1, 2008 – 11:56 pm
It’s time to look at the Sony Ericsson K850i, a mobile phone which belongs to the Cybershot line, and stands out as a camera-feature-only phone. The K850i turned out to be much better than what were expecting, especially in terms of the little details, but at the end, the details is not what matters, and the camera is the most important part on the phone. We will introduce the K850i in the following paragraphs and discuss the need of such a phone.

5320, N96, N78 added to NGage compatibility list
Written by Meraj Chhaya on August 1, 2008 – 1:10 am
Instead of the previously announced Nokia N73, N93, and N93i addition to NGage application support, it’s these three upcoming mobile phones that are added to the compatibility and support list of Nokia’s gaming platform. It is no news that N96 and N78 are part of this league, but 5320, being an XpressMusic device, surprises me.

From Vodacom HSDPA to Neotel CDMA2000 EVDO
Written by Meraj Chhaya on August 1, 2008 – 1:03 am
I’m going through an important phase in my life, and no, nothing to do with changes in my body. I’m changing my Internet Service Provider. Why am I telling you that? It has all got to do with wireless, and ultimately, phones.
If you’re not aware of my current internet status, I got a 2 year contract with Vodacom for their HDSPA modem. The speed is 1.8mbps but I can ask them to increase it to 3.6mbps, all for the cost of R50 per month. Useless. My cap is 2GB per month, and I’m paying R449 for it. I can lower it to t the minimum of 500MB at R249 or increase it to 10GB, and I’m not interested in the price.

Nokia 5800 releasing at the Smartphones Show
Written by Meraj Chhaya on August 1, 2008 – 12:48 am
Or so I think. Yesterday I was speaking to James Whatley from SMS Text News and I discussed the possibility of having the 5800 releasing at the Smartphones Show. Nokia demonstrated S60 Touch UI for the first time at last year’s Smartphones Show, and I truly believe that there is a chance that the first device will officially be showcased at this same event. One of the Nokia representatives at the Eseries launch declined to comment, but I have a feeling from his reactions that the device might show up at the event.
Today I received an invite to attend the show, it will be held on the 21-22 October, and the event seems quite interesting. If my exams weren’t after those dates I would probably try to attend it. I am off from the 16th until the 22nd, but that’s study time. If you’re interested in going on behalf on PhoneReport, please contact us, and we’ll get you a press pass.
Seems that the event will be “the biggest and best yet”. The organizers expect 4000 visitors, 60 seminars per day, and 120 exhibitors of which Symbian, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Trolltech. Mobile DevFest will also be incorporated as part of the show, it’s “Symbian’s premier developer event and will offer dedicated content and feature three streams of technical seminars and two instructor-led hands-on training labs”.
