Sony Ericsson K850i review – Multimedia

Written by Meraj Chhaya on August 10, 2008 – 2:36 am

03072008600-800x6001-300x173 Sony Ericsson K850i review – MultimediaThe Sony Ericsson K850i has quite an impressive media application for a camera-feature-only mobile phone. Although it has a small display that is not very comfortable to watch movies in, and the sound speaker intensity isn’t as much as other phones, it performs well and is quite attractive to the user, as Sony Ericsson has a great experience in this field thanks to their Walkman phones.

Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte goes full-on diamonds

Written by Meraj Chhaya on August 10, 2008 – 2:34 am

nokia-8800-sapphire-arte-knalihs-athem-243x300 Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte goes full-on diamondsOnce again, the Nokia 8800 was decorated with jewellery. This time is the 8800 Sapphire Arte that gets blinged by Swiss luxury designer and jeweller Knalihs Athem. Only 20 of these phones will be encrusted with 1000 finest quality brilliant cut diamonds that weigh 6.75 carats.

Unlike the recently spoken-about Amosu Ultimo Diamond iPhone which costs $177 300, this 8800 “only” costs US$20 000. The phones also can be personalized with name, initials, numbers, logos, and pretty much everything else.

Google Android is really delayed to 2009!

Written by Meraj Chhaya on August 10, 2008 – 2:31 am

android-full-touchscreen-demos-172-300x169 Google Android is really delayed to 2009!According to various reports, Google Android supporting devices will be delayed, and all because of HTC. If you remember well, we were the first to announce that HTC is going to release Google Android running devices by Q4 this year, and  very recently, HTC’s CEO reconfirmed that. Now it seems that there has been a problem and the date is drawn back to Q1 2009.

The following rumours have risen of HTC: the company is “having structural problems to incorporate Google’s demanded feature set”; HTC is “demanding a guaranteed minimum revenue surety from Google”. An analyst from Global Equities Research has concluded that maybe HTC thinks that there will not be enough demand for the so-called Google Phone.

We doubt that HTC will drop out at this stage, but they might remove the priority of the upcoming Android device, which is rumoured to be the HTC Dream. They will surely present it by Q4, just to keep up with the dates, but release it much later, just like Nokia did with the N96. This is all speculation, and it’s based on the rumours going around, so don’t rely on this expectation.

Written by Meraj Chhaya on August 10, 2008 – 2:13 am

spike-lee-with-a-nokia-n95-8gb Nokia Productions Spike Lees movie coming soonLaurie Sullivan from MarketingDaily reports that Nokia’s movie with Spike Lee will release on the 21st of August, which is earlier than the official release date for Fall 2008.

The premier will take place at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live plaza in Los Angeles.

Although the participants are asked to capture images and videos via their mobile phones, this isn’t compulsory, as according to the FAQ at the Nokia Productions website:

A. While we encourage you to use your mobile device, you don’t necessarily have to.

Nokia chooses the top 25 submissions from each act, the visitors vote for the top 10, and the director Spike Lee picks the winner from each to integrate in the full movie.

Nokia will select five random participants and give away a Nokia N95, and offer them the chance to meet the director at the premiere.

Nicki Purcell, senior digital marketing manager of Nokia, said that the project aims to connect humanity through text, music and visuals, and that it highlights moviemaking features to help consumers reap the benefits that Nokia phones offer.
