HTC Dream G1 video & specs - 1st Android phone
Written by Meraj Chhaya on August 13, 2008 – 11:29 pm
The first Google Android prototype was showcased by Google itself at the I/O conference. Some stated that it was the HTC Dream, but we don’t believe Google will tease us so openly. The latest video of what is also being announced as the HTC Dream shows the same phone that was shown at the conference.
The so-called HTC Dream has a QWERTY slide-out keyboard, just like the HTC Touch Pro, and the video also shows that auto-rotation is quite responsive. There have been other news, such as the disclosure of the model name of the HTC Dream, it’s G1, which probably stands for Google 1, which actually sounds like a prototype codename.
Here are the features which we found:
- 5×3″ touchscreen (yeah, right…)
- 3G connectivity
- 3 megapixel camera
- Release date: 17 September (what about the HTC Touch Pro?)
Some stuff just doesn’t make sense, but we will have to wait and see…The video after the jump.
