About us
What started as a hobby in January 2007, became one of the most important things our lives. In the beginning of PhoneReport, it was known as CNM, which stands for Canal de Noticias Moveis, translated in English, it’s Mobile News Channel. Later it became CNM | PhoneReport.
The blog used to have copied posts from diverse sources, as it was an effort to bring news from everywhere to readers, but in November 2007, all that changed, and became a professional news blog with fully authored posts, ok, maybe only some parts copied, but fully referenced, this was when PhoneReport became mature.
Today we were widely known as PhoneReport, and in the beginning of April 2008 we ported to Wordpress and changed from PhoneReport v1.0 to PhoneReport v2.0. The reason we changed to this platform is that an English platform made people feel more at easy, especially to comment on posts. Wordpress is also Open Source, so we can easily add plugins and keep up with technology.
Besides bringing you the latest news and scoop about mobile phones and the mobile phone industry, we often write reviews on the mobiles that are provided to us, thanks to a contact from Rudolph at MyADSL. Another party we have to thank is WOM World, for the effort in sending us devices all the way from the UK.
Our sister project is Nokia N96 Blog, on which we focus mainly on the N96 and the Symbian OS9.3 and S60 UI v3 Feature Pack 2.
The team joins two childhood friends: me, Meraj Chhaya, and our “financial expert”, in both examining market moves by the mobile industry’s giants, and by keeping the site clean with decent publicity which financially supports us, and attractive templates, he is the famous M. Hussein.
In case you feel like contributing to this blog, you can send us applications or devices for reviews or comparisons, send us news tips, or simply comment on our posts, which does motivate us quite a lot. We are currently not looking for writers, but again, we do appreciate news tips.
You might have seen me, Meraj writing at Symbian World, this was a kind invitation by Norman John, and did not interfere with posts here. Unfortunately, like all good things in life, it came to an end. Our friendship with Symbian World still continues, but as we are pressurized on working on our sister projects, time became a problem.
In case you have any doubts, problems or feel like you need advice in this technological section, don’t hesitate in contacting us via the Contact Us form. If you need anything else, we will add you onto our IM clients, we currently use Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger, and MXit.
If you would like to know about us more personally, please do contact us, but make sure you have a good reason.
More will be added to this page as we continue growing.
