The Backbeat 906 has an adaptor that connects to the phone via a 3.5mm jack, for those devices that do not have Bluetooth, while the 903 is comprised of Bluetooth headphones only.

Both headphones support the Plantronics Dual-Mic AudioIQ technology, which includes two microphones on the product. One microphone captures voice, while the other listens for background noise, and removes it.

AudioIQ, Plantronics' proprietary digital signal processing algorithm, intelligently senses the caller's surroundings to further improve background noise and automatically adjusts the sound for the best possible two-way audio quality.

The headphones also support Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR, with the Hands-Free, Headset, A2DP and AVRC profiles, for wireless call and music control capability, like many other Bluetooth headphones today.

All this technology does not come at a cheap price. the BackBeat 906 will retail for $129.95 and the BackBeat 903 (without adapter) for $99.95. Release date is scheduled for late February 2009.
