Reshaping the iPhone to look like a camcorder could have disastrous results. Nokia certainly has a clear memory of the visual appeal of the N90, N92, N93, and the deception of their weight.

The sources also said that we are "about six weeks away from the next big thing", clearly reffering to the WWDC event, a major occasion for Apple.

Having a new iPhone focused on video could also mean that the camera will be finally upgraded, and be in line with most high-end mobile phones. The 2 megapixel camera was kept constant on the second iPhone, a let down for photography fans.

The BusinessWeek article suggests that the camcorder functions will make the iPhone a "a one-stop studio for recording, editing, viewing and sharing your own videos", a feature already common in many phones, but most times with a user interface which is not attractive. The user interface is clearly one of the strongest points of Apple.

I can imagine the keynote, ''It records video, it records video and it records video'' Then all fans go crazy for something smartphones have had for YEARS!
