Well this time it was the N82 and Symbian itself, the N82 winning a much expected 'Best Mobile Imaging Device in Europe 2008' by the Technical Image Press Association, and Symbian gaining two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in the fields of Innovation and International Trade.

There isn't much to wonder, the N82 is the ultimate cameraphone, and I'm still trialing it and loving every second with it, ok maybe not in direct sunlight, as the phone's shine blinds me. With a 5 megapixel camera, Xenon flash, Geotagging ability, and instant photo share, the N82 really deserved the award.

"The Nokia N82 is a compact multimedia computer that integrates GPS, web, video and music functions around a 5 Megapixel camera with a high-speed, f/2.8 autofocus lens," the TIPA jurors said. "This Carl Zeiss Tessar focuses from 10cm to infinity and produces sharp prints up to and beyond A4 size. Several scene modes are also available to optimize the Nokia N82 for great images, whether shooting portraits or night shots," TIPA continued. Other Nokia N82 features highlighted by the jurors are the Xenon flash and 20X digital zoom.
"We are very excited to hear that the Nokia N82 has been recognized for its excellent imaging features," says Juha Kokkonen, Director for Nokia Nseries devices. "The Nokia N82 is an excellent example of how converged devices entirely change the way people contribute to and share on the internet by combining strong camera capabilities with built-in A-GPS and an array of connectivity features."

Symbian was clearly awarded the Queen's awards thanks to their client support and revolution in the mobile market.

“We’re a British success story and thrilled to be recognised by the Queen’s Awards,” said Nigel Clifford, CEO, Symbian. “As the global leader in our field, including in the most advanced Asian mobile markets, Symbian is a British technology company having an impact on the world stage. We’re proud of the achievements recognised by these awards and very excited about what the future holds for us in this dynamic industry.”
