windows mobile 7 zune application 231x300 Ballmer: Windows Mobile to have Zune appSteve Ballmer, CEO, Microsoft, has confirmed that the upcoming versions of Windows Mobile operating system will include a multimedia application by the name of Zune, which is the company's proprietary MP3 player, according to an interview by CIO editor Martin Veitch.

The move would be similar to that one of Apple, who named the multimedia application of the iPhone after its successful MP3 player line.

The player is rumoured to only be included, and as we know, the first mobile phone with Windows Mobile 7 should be released by Q1 2009, just in time to face the first S60 fifth edition phone, released yesterday by Nokia.

We believe that Microsoft's attempt is simple globalization, it's practically affirming that the company will try to improve their multimedia features, which is really necessary as most WM devices are seen as business phones, and most are overpriced.
