WATERLOO, Canada - The Pearl has been out for several years now, and overdue for an update. According to Salomondrin, a rather reliable source on these matters, the BlackBerry 9100 Pearl 2, also known as the Stratus or Striker, has made a debut.
There is a YouTube video of the device, produced by Salomondrin, which can be found at the site, with an in-depth review.
The most important features are the 3G radio (AT&T and Rogers will see it first in North America, Wi-Fi, the new trackpad, and a full QWERTY keyboard. It is about 2/3 the size of the Storm2, sleek, and small. The screen is small, but not a touchscreen.
Salomondrin predicts a launch date of April 2010.
