TBLILISI, Georgia - Magticom, Alcatel-Lucent and RIM announced the successful launch of the BlackBerry solution for Magticom customers in Georgia. End-users in this former Soviet State will be able to enjoy the full features of BlackBerry smartphones in the region.
Magticom’s General Director David Lee is quoted as saying "Magticom’s subscribers want access to the latest technology that can help them manage all aspects of their lives. The BlackBerry solution fits perfectly with MagtiCom’s mission of "Connecting to your world"". Alcatel-Lucent is a strategic partner in the program to bring this higher level of connectivity to Georgia. The company was responsible for the end-to-end implementation, installation, and on-going support services, managing the integration and deployment for the BlackBerry solution in Georgia.
The first BlackBerry devices available are the Bold, the 8900 Curve, and 8120 Pearl. All have GSM/EDGE technology coupled with Wi-Fi; the Bold and Curve also include GPS.
MagtiCom is offering BlackBerry Enterprise Server for corporate clients as part of the introduction.
