Both the Touch 3G and Touch Viva were leaked a while ago, you might remember Touch Viva by its codename Opal.

The HTC Touch 3G has Quad-band EDGE coverage, which means it will work almost anywhere in the the world, there is HSDPA at 7.2mbps, a 2.8″ display with QVGA resolution (240×320 pixels), a 3.2 megapixel camera, 256MB of internal memory, 192MB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, built-in A-GPS, battery capacity of 1100mAh, which is quite low, microSD memory card support, a Qualcomm® MSM7225™ 528 MHz Processor and the device runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 with TouchFLO 3D user interface.

The HTC Touch Viva also has Quad-band EDGE coverage, no 3G, a 2.8″ display with QVGA resolution (240×320 pixels), a 2 megapixel camera which points out that this might be quite a cheap Touch, 256MB of internal memory but only 128MB of RAM, there is Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, WiFi b/g unlike the Touch 3G, the same battery capacity, a TI OMAP 850 processor that runs at 201 MHz, and the same Operating System and user interface as the previous phone.

HTC Touch HD - huge display, Storm rival

Written by Meraj Chhaya on September 16, 2008 – 4:58 pm

htc-touch-hd-press-image-286x300 HTC Touch HD - huge display, Storm rivalHTC has surely raised the bar, as they say, in mobile internet and entertainment. The HTC Touch HD, which was leaked few days ago, is now official, and its most astonishing feature is the 3.8″ touchscreen display with WVGA resolution (480×800 pixels).

If that wasn’t enough, the Touch HD has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus but no flash, a 3.5mm audio jack, 512MB internal memory, 288MB RAM, WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, built-in A-GPS, HSDPA at 7.2mbps, HSPA, Qualcomm® MSM7201a™ 528 MHz CPU, runs on Windows Mobile 6.1, has the HTC TouchFLO 3D user interface, and only weighs 146g.

The phone supports microSD memory card but the battery capacity is a mere 1350mAh.

This will be the direct competitor of the BlackBerry Storm, and as you can see, the front housing is very similar.

The only reason this won’t be my next phone is that it does not run on Symbian OS9.5, which I’m very much used to, as there is enormous variety of applications, games, themes, and of course, users.

Press release after the jump.

Written by Meraj Chhaya on September 12, 2008 – 5:17 pm

htc-opal-300x181 HTC Opal - when it rains, it poursIt has been pouring HTC phones these two months. From the HTC Touch Pro, to the S740, Dream, Touch HD, and now, the mid-end HTC Opal.

HTC wants to hit the smartphone industry hard with diversity, which is good, and not confusing, especially if the price differences are great.

The HTC Opal features a 2 megapixel camera, Quad-band EDGE, no 3G or HSDPA, WiFi, 128MB RAM, 256MB ROM, 2.8″ display, and runs on a 200MHz processor.

HTC leaks Touch HD and tons of details

Written by Meraj Chhaya on September 10, 2008 – 10:36 pm

htc-touch-hd-225x300 HTC leaks Touch HD and tons of detailsWe have just received clear and very revealing pictures of the upcoming HTC Touch HD, which might just make you forget about the Touch Diamond.

The phone looks almost exactly like the BlackBerry Thunder, and of that phone, we have a video published not long ago.

What we we do know about the Touch HD is that it runs on a Qualcomm 7201A CPU with 528MHz, 288MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, 327MB internal memory, 480×800 pixels of resolution, and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR. By the looks of it, the display seems to be larger than 3.2″, and the Touch FLO 3D is included, as well as 3G. Perhaps we can expect HSDPA and HSUPA as well.

Further details from the forum confirm that there should be a 5 megapixel camera with no flash, GPS, the dimensions are 115mm x 62.8mm x 12mm, microSD memory card slot, 1350mAh battery, 3.5mm audio jack, Quadband HSDPA/HSUPA.

The HTC Touch HD should be released by December this year, to make even time for Windows Mobile 7 devices. More pictures after the jump.

BlackBerry Thunder, HTC Touch Pro on video

Written by Meraj Chhaya on September 10, 2008 – 10:36 pm

On this video, not even the presenter is sure of what the phone is called, that large is the confusion. The BlackBerry Storm, Thunder or Thunderstorm has been leaked in a presentation video by a so-called ninja. The HTC Touch Pro and an LG are also included on the video.

We get valuable information from this good-quality-video, especially on how the Blackberry 9530’s touchscreen will work, which will be a large button, so much for localized haptic feedback…

The interface and controls need polishing on the BlackBerry’s side, but the presenter also spoke about the Touch Pro, which he didn’t like. The phone does look quite thick, although after the charming Touch Diamond, we expect something of this category on the Touch Pro.
