"Mediabox uses its own UPnP subsystem which is extremely lightweight and more compatible than gupnp."

Firstly, since N900 already ships gupnp on it, the size of this framework only adds to the size of gupnp no matter how "light-weight" it is.

Secondly, how do you claim its "more comapitable" than gupnp? we've been working hard to make sure its as compatible as possible with existing upnp products out there and last i checked we pass all but one of the DLNA tests. Even if we are missing compatibility with some devices that mediabox author cared about, its nothing some informative bug reports to gupnp wouldn't have solved.

Fact is that the mediabox author wrote his own upnp stack because he was too lazy to write any c code, which he would have needed to do if he had used gupnp from python back then. It has nothing to do with gupnp being heavy or less compatible. Just wanted to get facts straight.

I dropped my phone into the toilet last night but the battery didn't fall in just the phone itself. After hand drying it and disassembling and blow drying it then reassembling it there was a little bit of glitching in the screen and when I would press 1 it would do all of that row. Same for any button. I called the sprint customer service center for troubleshooting ideas to make it work quicker and they told me to remove the battery which it already was and plug it into the charger.... It turned on for maybe half a second and turned off and repeated this for about 2 hours then it gave me the emergency download screen: problem USB port which is where my charger port is. If I had to guess I would say something got shorted out. Does anyone with a little more knowledge recommend anything, or think this would help matters at all?

If Nokia officially supports a complete reflash to Meego, I'd give it a go.

* I've not loaded much data on it anyway yet, mostly because I can't get my important calendar data moved from my Nokia 6820 due to the Ovi/PC Suite backup/restore issue.
* All the apps I've installed so far have been free.
* I'd copy my documents away from the N900 and then back again under MeeGo.

Speaking of the backup issue: I can't yet restore my 6820 backup to the Maemo platform. I wonder if we'll see MeeGo support for restoring old (legacy: S40?) backups soon?

Also the guy that posted the CNET article messed it up so it looked like Meego was definitely NOT coming to the N900.

What he should have said was that you won't be able to install Meego over the top of Maemo. It would have to be a complete reflash, thus destroying any data, apps and documents that are already on the phone, and Maemo backups won't work on Meego either.
