HTC Legend Google AndroidTAOYUAN, Taiwan - Last Monday the first pictures of the HTC Legend appeared circulating on the web. Coming from the new HTC Android terminals family, a mobile with a touchscreen and a design that makes one remember the HTC Magic, although when talking about the features, it gets closer to the HTC Hero. It looks like the latter's successor is coming along with improved specs and design.

Having read about the HTC Legend on a leaked HTC Roadmap 2010, the specs describe a 3.2" AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display with 480x320 pixels in resolution, an optical trackpad, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G with HSDPA, and FM radio are among other features, and a 5 megapixel camera along with LED flash, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Relative to the hardware, the HTC Legend is an upgrade in comparison to the HTC Hero, carrying a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 (it seems as the Snapdragon 1GHz processor is confirmed for the HTC Bravo). Further, 256MB internal memory would be accompanied with a microSD memory card slot for expansion.

For the operating system, there is confirmation that the HTC Legend will run on Android, although its version is unknown, but probably the latest, 2.1 version.

The announcement of this phone is likely to happen on the upcoming Mobile World Congress which will take place in Barcelona, Spain next February. While the release could be sometime near March 2010.
