T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant Galaxy SBELLEVUE, USA - Samsung's most advanced smartphone in the market, the Galaxy S, is heading to T-Mobile as the Samsung Vibrant. Its release date has been changed from the 21st of this month, to the 15th.

The change in the date has been likely forced by AT&T, who announced that its own variant of the Galaxy S, the AT&T Samsung Captivate, will be available in the market from the 18th of July. Samsung has taken the clever route, providing the Galaxy S to all operators, letting them fight between themselves, while the South Korean manufacturer eats away the profits from the contest.

It is important for Samsung to actually promote this handset as a powerful one, especially when facing threats from rival Motorola, who is planning to launch the Verizon Droid X on the 15th of this month. Both Droid X and Galaxy S run on Google Android 2.1, with similar high-end specifications.

The Samsung Vibrant is priced at US$199 on a two-year contract with T-Mobile USA, with pre-loaded content such as the Sims 3 game, the movie Avatar, mobiTV for live TV, a Kindle app, Slacker internet radio, while many more apps can be downloaded from the Google Android Marketplace.

The Samsung Galaxy S, as it goes around in most of the world, features a 4" Super AMOLED touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera with support for HD video recording, a full connectivity suite, and the usual high-end smartphone goodies.
