Leaked images have been circulating the blogosphere concerning the possible release from HP of two new smartphones that will run on Windows Mobile 6.1, the Oak, and Silver.
The HP Oak is said to feature HSDPA, WiFi, GPS, and come in a slide-out keyboard form factor. Speculations pointed out to a possible price range of US$461, and a release date of September, but that has passed, the price must have changed, and the rumoured release date is in two months time, according to WSJ, citing unnamed sources.
The Silver smartphone had the release date for July, and a price range of US$443, which is probably changed. The phone will have a keyboard that reminds us of RIM's Sure-Type keyboard, and also 3G.
HP is quite poor on the mobile phone sector, and the two phones that are rumoured to be announced are far from looking user-friendly, much the opposite, they seem to be targeted to the businessman, both look as a PDA with a phone function.
