T-Mobile and AT&T will receive the Windows Mobile-based, HSDPA, HSUPA and GPS-enabled, Pharos Traveler 137.
The Traveler 137 also carries A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an iPhone-like 3.5" display with 800x480 pixels of resolution. Likewise the iPhone, there is no keyboard.
The phone also sports two cameras, one being for videocalls, and the other one, a 3 megapixel camera, for captures. A microSD memory card slot is also available for expansion.
In technical terms, the Traveler 137 will run on Windows Mobile 6.1, have 256MB of RAM, and a Qualcomm MSM7201A 528MHz processor . The 1380mAh battery will allow it to have four hours of talk time.
The navigation maps are built-in for the USA, and currently available for Canada, Western Europe and Eastern Europe on a daily (US$1.99/day), weekly (US$4.99/week), monthly (US$6.99/month) or yearly basis (US$49.99/year), with future support expected for China, Russia, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and beyond. The cost for maps might make the Traveler 137 less attractive, but their availability also points out the phone's availability itself in the world.
The Traveler 137 will be available late Q1 2009, at a price of $599.95.
