If you have been following PiZero's dilemma, that Handango ignored the copyright infringement claims from the artist, concerning the sale of his free themes, the case has been solved. The ticket launched by the artist to the copyright team was completely ignored, so PhoneReport has been pressurizing Illume PR, Handango's Public Relation representatives to offer a response on this problem.
Early morning we received an email from Illume PR's representative for Handango, providing us with the following statement from Handango:
It is a high priority for Handango to address potential copyright and trademark issues for our developers' products and to do so as soon as we are made aware of potential claims. Unfortunately, this was brought to our attention while several of our content team members were attending the Handango Future Forum at CTIA in San Francisco last week. We have addressed this process issue and you can count on Handango to respond more timely in the event this type of issue should arise again in the future. In the meanwhile, we have now deactivated the "symbianShow" products from our site. We apologize for the delay and any inconvenience for PiZero.
We are happy that we could contribute to solving one of the biggest problems of cyber-society: Piracy. We hope that PiZero continues publishing his excellent themes, both free and premium, as it's a valuable contribution to the Symbian community.
