Motorola Sholes Tablet Android 2 (4)BEIJING, China - Motorola's new Google Android smartphone has been leaked and confirmed to be the Sholes Tablet. The device will feature a large touchscreen and run on the latest version of the operating system.

The Sholes Tablet has a large 3.7" touchscreen with 800x480 pixels in resolution, a 5 megapixel camera, a user interface similar to HTC's Sense UI, and will be released by China Unicom as the Motorola XT701.

The phone's specifications could be considered quite low when compared to the standard of Chinese mobile phones, especially the camera, at 5 megapixels in capture resolution.

Certain sources report an HDMI port in the device, and that the Sholes could in fact run on Android 2.0, rather than on Android 2.1.

Similar to the Motorola DROID, which is making waives in the US, the leaked handset will also run on the 550MHz OMAP TI 3430 processor.
