Motorola's new gadget isn't an impressive innovative phone for us to admire, but sets a standard in Motorola. Adding WiFi and an advanced Operating System such as Linux is a step forward that many Moto fans will like.
The Linux OS might have been used to highlight the fact that Motorola will try compete against the upcoming Google Android, or it might just state that Motorola are sick and tired of Symbian or even Windows Mobile for that matter.
The Z6W features a 2” display with QVGA resolution. Unfortunately, there is no 3G, this is a setback for Motorola as most brands are starting to use Dual HSDPA on their devices. There is Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP.
The device isn't dedicated to imaging, as it only features a 2 megapixel camera and QCIF video recording.
“We are proud to add our latest Wi-Fi enabled handset to our growing portfolio, delivering a compelling wireless experience to consumers anywhere they go,” said Rob Shaddock, senior vice president, feature and mass market handsets, Motorola Mobile Devices. “The new W series handsets offer both great mobile phone basics and a solid music experience, in a candy bar form factor that you can show off with pride.”
There's only 64MB of internal memory, but you can always add more as it has a microSD slot.
