The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia's first S60 touchscreen phone, and the expected iPhone killer, has made its début in Malaysia, and will start selling in the UK from January 23rd.
In some instances the phone will be made part of the Comes With Music campaign, which offers free music download over an entire year, and users can keep it forever. In other packages, users will be able to download music over-the-air via local Nokia Music Stores.
The 5800, unlike its opponents, does not have a large built-in memory, but does bring a 8GB microSD memory card. The device also features HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, and dual LED flash, and the highlight, is the 3.2" display with 360x640 pixels of resolution.
The phone will bring sensors that take it closer to the future of these devices, such as a proximity sensor, and ambience light sensor which regulates the display lightning according to external light.
In Malaysia the phone will retail for RM 1,499, while in the UK, the price will be £249.
PhoneReport has already reviewed the device on-the-spot, at the Symbian Smartphones Show 2008 in London.
