The Cinemizer comprises of a pair of glasses which have built-in screens, a nosepad for comfortability, and a "docking station" which replaced the Nokia N86's connections, as these were covered. The device connected to the N86 via the 3.5mm audiovisual jack; the phone fitted perfectly on the docking station. The power can be extracted from USB, or one can incorporate a power pack.

The eyewear piece illudes the viewer to believe that a 45" is actually being displayed within 2m of distance. The screen supports 3D movies, further improving the technology and increasing its featuresheet. The screen has a resolution of 640x480 pixels, much larger than most common mobile phone displays, and ideal for SD videos.

Zeiss has ruled out a wireless version for the meanwhile, as it will cause a drop in battery power. The ideal connectivity technology chosen would be Wi-Fi, for its DLNA protocols.

The Cinemizer is said to be more comfortable than its competitor MyVu, as the latter does not have a nosepad to rest the glasses over the nose.
