FBReader 300x180 Review: FBReader eBook N900 AppFBReader is a especially optimized app for reading books on the Maemo platform.

The application supports several open e-book formats: FB2, HTML, CHM, Plucker, PalmDoc, ZTXT, TCT (Psion text), RTF, OEB, OpenReader, non-DRM'ed MobiPocket, and plain text. FBReader goes as far as to support compressed archives in the form of TAR, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 archives. It even allows reading multiple books kept in one archive.

An interesting feature of  FBReader is that it supports structured view for the user's eBook collection. This offers the user the ability to quickly reach for their favorite eBooks as quickly as possible.

Character encodings of all eBooks are determined automatically and the software even automatically generates table-of-contents for chapter-based content. Basic functions such as keeping the last book open and remembering positions within books for all material are handled beautifully.

In our opinion, as long as you are a casual eBook reader, you can easily use the Nokia N900 as an eBook reader, given that it has a fairly large screen and the 32GB of memory will allow users to store thousands of ebooks.
