BARCELONA, Spain - The battle to dominate the music-phone industry is constantly reinforced by the players in this industry. The Nokia 5630 XpressMusic is the latest soldier to this battle, and has recently been launched in Europe.

The phone is characterized by its slim candybar form factor, and is one of the first Nokia smartphones to have the "Say and Play" feature, which in practicalityy, adds a voice recognition function to the music player.

The 5630 comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, 2.2" display, quadband GSM and dualband HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microSD memory card (a 4GB card is included in the package), and has a 3.5mm jack. It runs on Symbian OS with S60 v3.2 software platform, on a ARM11 processor at 600MHz.

Unsurprisingly, below the 5630's small screen, there are small keys. Nokia has crafted the buttons so as users feel comfortable with them. Their unusual numbers' font is a component of the phone's style - good or bad, that is for the consumer to decide. In this section there are 23 keys, including 12 numeric keys, two call keys, two soft keys, a d-pad, a menu key, and a clear key.

At the left of the phone, there are three thin metallic music keys: rewind/back, play/pause, and forward/next.

At the right of the phone, there is a volume rocker, microSD memory card slot, and a camera button.

The 3.5mm audiovisual jack and the microUSB port are located at the top of the phone.

The bottom of the phone is left untouched.

The back of the phone has patterns which associate it to a speaker. The 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash, and enhanced fixed focus.

A feature-packed smartphone, focused in music, is what Nokia could be needing to stabilize - or even increase - its marketshare in the music-phones market. The price is not high for the features offered, but it will be the consumer to judge the aesthetics side of the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic and decide whether the phone is worth it, or not.
