TORONTO, Canada - The Samsung Forever, also known as the SGH-A886, is the newest addition to the manufacturer's touchscreen-phone portfolio. It will be available to Canadian consumers via Rogers.
The handset is said to be similar to the A&T Sostice in terms of specifications; it has a 3" touchscreen display with Wide-QVGA resolution, 3G connectivity, a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and microSD memory card support.
The Samsung Solstice A887 had been launched in August in neighbouring USA, for a higher price.
A 1000mAh battery will provide the phone with 250 hours of standby time, and 3 hours of talk time.
The Forever is not a smartphone; however, it will run Samsung's signature TouchWIZ user interface.
Rogers will offer the handset at CA$79.99 (US$76) on a three-year contract, and at CA$279.99 on (US$266) prepaid, with other deals in between.
