As the 8 megapixel camera-phones start making way to the markets, it’s time to look back and analyse the world’s best 5 megapixel camera-phones. This isn’t just useful to remind ourselves of the manufacturers’ fierce battle, but also for the consumers who cannot wait for the 8 megapixel camera-phones, and need the best in the market NOW. If you won’t be able to afford the Sony Ericsson C905 Cybershot, or Samsung i8510 INNOV8, or even the rumoured LG KC910 this comparison review is for you as well. Nokia and Motorola and keeping quiet about their possible future 8 megapixel camera-phones, as Motorola just released the ZN5, and Nokia is going to soon retail it’s flagship N96.

We might see a new flagship from Nokia with an 8 megapixel camera by next year, hopefully a touchscreen, but until then, the INNOV8 will have taken over Nokia’s territory, with Nokia’s own user interface!

Written by Meraj Chhaya on July 22, 2008 – 5:14 pm

diamond-iphone-x1-1-300x225 5 competitors of Apple iPhone 3GIf you really don’t want to get the iPhone 3G, either because you don’t like it, or you don’t want to fall into a hype, there is always hope for you. Well, there’s actually 5 hopes for you, if that’s English enough.

David LaGesse brings us the Samsung Instinct, LG Dare, HTC Touch Diamond, LG Vu, and Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. For some reason he left the Finnish giant out. Is it justified? Nokia doesn’t have any touchscreen device, but there’s always the E90 or the newbie E71.

Written by Meraj Chhaya on May 11, 2008 – 5:11 pm

07052008370-800x600 N96 and N78 hands-on overview

I finally managed to get my hands-on these fabulous devices and ask few questions on this and that. I’ve compared the N96, N78, N82 black, N95 8GB, and the N81 8GB. It took some effort to present the differences, and I managed to get everyone staring at me like I was a maniac. In any case, please do present your comments, and predictions on what you think these devices will turn out to be, and of course, if you will buy one!

Apple iPhone vs Nokia N93 camera comparison

00 Apple iPhone vs Nokia N93 camera comparison

This is one interesting test. I never lay my hands on an iPhone yet, in South Africa they aren’t sold, but I do hate the useless hype that went on about it, not even the N95 had so much “excitement”, of course in the Symbian communities there was a lot of expectation, which was fulfilled.

Well one of my friends was bragging as two or three of his friends do have the iPhone, and that the camera quality is awesome, because of this and that. I was pretty convinced that it was simply because the viewfinder is much bigger than any usual phone. He even said that the photo quality is better than the N73’s, which I simply could not believe.

Thankfully, Mazor from Symbian-Freak forums has put the Apple iPhone to the test against the Nokia N93, which we know is a legendary camera phone.

So, head over to SF, and enjoy the article!
