Carmack describe the iPhone as a phone which offers a "rare opportunity for game publishers to deliver graphics rich titles supported by detailed textual descriptions on the App Store". Furthermore he also praised the iPhone SDK as very intuitive. He went to the point of comparing the iPhone's hardware to that of the Sega Dreamcast, Sony PlayStation 2, and even XBox. For the last bit, he stated that the iPhone is "more powerful than a Nintendo DS and PSP combined".

Carmack disclosed that the revenue sharing between Apple and the developers is above 70% per sale for the developer. As a last statement, he doesn't believe that the iPhone can be marketed as a gaming machine, but will led people to play games on their phones more than ever before.

iPhone App Store has 522 applications

Written by Meraj Chhaya on July 10, 2008 – 8:22 pm

iphone-app-store-300x168 iPhone App Store has 522 applicationsThe Apple iPhone 3G has already been launched in countries such as New Zealand, and it's App Store has also opened. There are 522 applications available, of which 135 are free for download. The method to get to the App Store is to go through iTunes, but it seems that the link doesn't appear there, so we got the following tip:

There’s no link (that I’ve seen) to the App store, however, do a quick search for AIM, which we already know is a confirmed app. You’ll then see the AIM app, and after it is downloaded, you can click the “Get More Applications” button at the bottom right corner of the Applications section.

Watch the video after the jump.
