LG KM710 super music player

Written by Meraj Chhaya on February 16, 2008 – 6:31 pm

showimagephpmphonesom7 LG KM710 super music player

I hope I didn’t get any of the stats wrong, but according to the specs, the LG KM710 plays up to 30hours of continous music, now that’s a powerful battery!

Besides having a great battery, the LG has a 3 megapixel camera, it’s Quadband, and has a QVGA display, although I don’t know the size, if you do, please let me know.

There is no 3G, but there is Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP support. It features a microSD slot if you need extra memory, and unfortunately I don’t have information on the internal memory either.

Curiously, the phone was dubbed the Mark Levinson phone, as he his a manufacturer of high-end audio equipment, and this phone is obviously music dedicated.

I might be mistaken, but if you look at the photo, it seems that there is a navi-wheel, which would be great for a music phone.

    KM500 low-end music dedicated phone

Written by Meraj Chhaya on February 16, 2008 – 5:22 pm

    lgkm50000fy6 KM500 low-end music dedicated phone

We shouldn’t be sad that such a stylish LG has such low specs, as LG always releases exotic designs. We should rather notice that this is a music device intended for the low-cost market.

With a 2" QVGA display and a 2 megapixel camera, the KM500 is clearly not a strong imaging phone, but we can tell that it’s music orientated by the dedicated music key and the 3.5mm jack.

There is no 3G, and Bluetooth is v2.0, which should have A2DP to enable good music quality in bluetooth headphones.
There is 50MB of internal memory, and the KM500 supports microSD if you need further space.

    LG KF510, mixed phone?

Written by Meraj Chhaya on February 16, 2008 – 4:19 pm

    lgkf51000mz3 LG KF510, mixed phone?

How on earth can you provide a 3.2 megapixel camera phone, a 16MB of internal memory???
Even though a microSD port is included, it’s always necessary to have a bit of internal memory.

Besides that, there is no 3G, but there is Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP. I haven’t seen infrared ports lately, and this LG also doesn’t have it.

The device is quite an exotic slider, with Stardust Dark Grey, Sunset Red colours available.

There is FM radio but no RDS. You can’t expect much on the multimedia side, so I guess we can file this one under low-end phones.

The picture isn’t very clear, but if the top keys are touch sensitive, it will be like another LG Chocolate key disaster, and I really don’t want to see that.

    Specs:

    LG KF600 wasting space?

Written by Meraj Chhaya on February 16, 2008 – 3:11 pm

    lgkf60000ve4 LG KF600 wasting space?

I was looking at the KF 600, which has two touchscreens, which I think is quite a waste of space. It could have been to separate the display touchscreen from the input touchscreen. This was not needed as there is a slider beneath, which can be used as an input platform. Perhaps LG wanted to make it quite different from the KF700.

In terms of specifications, the KF600 has no 3G, a QVGA resolution on its display touchscreen, wihch is 2 inches in size. The lower input touchscreen has 176 x 240 pixels and is 1,49 inches in size.

Unfortunately there is no 3G. The Bluetooth is v2.0 but doesn’t seem to have A2DP according to the specs at GSMArena.

There is 64MB of internal memory, but there is a microSD port for memory cards. The camera has 3.2 megapixels, and the colours make it seem like its intended for a younger audience of female gender: Pastel pink, shiny pink, wine red and titan.

    LG KF700, the smart slider

Written by Meraj Chhaya on February 16, 2008 – 2:40 pm

lgkf70001rt7 LG KF700, the smart slider

Wow, it’s just beautiful. A 3" touchscreen with a slider. Atleast LG didn’t make the mistake of the iPhone, but introduced  a keypad.

The HSDPA at 7.2mbps is breathtaking, and it’s usual of LG trying to release new features onto the market, we saw that with the first 5 megapixel camera phone, which was from LG themselves.

Unfortunately LG always gets something wrong. In the Chocolate, the touchpad was very irritating as there was no "click" that we are used to, and in this device, it was the minor details.

Can’t really complain about the camera, 3.2 megapixel isn’t the best, but it’s enough for day-to-day needs, and there is a seconday camera for video calls.

Where LG really lost out was both the Operating System and resolution. Being such a wonderful device, it could have been packed with either Windows Mobile or Symbian, but LG decided to dedicate at the general public rather than higher-grade users. There is no excuse for the resolution, QVGA is not appropriate at all for 3" display. Another disadvantage is Bluetooth v1.2, at this stage I expect all devices, especially this to have v2.0

If you look at the back of the phone, there is a sort of a wheel, and I suppose this is a scroll wheel. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Thankfully the LG has a microSD card slot, and a satisfying 90MB of internal memory if you consider that the phone is not multimedia orientated.
