The mobile phone industry is at a a stage where it should think before releasing a phone. We can’t just have improvement at all times, there is a need for a slow down, and a change of tactics.

Nokia is dealing with that need very well by releasing the N78. The N78 should be a mid-end fully capable multimedia computer, or atleast, we hope it is one.

S60 phones at an early stage, especially NSeries, have a bad reputation which extends to the rest of Nokia phones. This is due to the numerous software faults consumers and even we have experienced in S60 phones. Nokia should learn to wait until they have stable software before going forward with a project.

The only way Nokia can win its consumers back is by providing a good design and great features at an affordable price. Even though the manufacturer has this reputation we spoke about, consumers continuously bought N73 and N95 phones, and that is a proof that good price levelled with good features can make a difference.
