Apple iPhone vs Nokia N93 camera comparison
Written by Meraj Chhaya on April 16, 2008 – 9:15 pm
This is one interesting test. I never lay my hands on an iPhone yet, in South Africa they aren’t sold, but I do hate the useless hype that went on about it, not even the N95 had so much “excitement”, of course in the Symbian communities there was a lot of expectation, which was fulfilled.
Well one of my friends was bragging as two or three of his friends do have the iPhone, and that the camera quality is awesome, because of this and that. I was pretty convinced that it was simply because the viewfinder is much bigger than any usual phone. He even said that the photo quality is better than the N73’s, which I simply could not believe.
Thankfully, Mazor from Symbian-Freak forums has put the Apple iPhone to the test against the Nokia N93, which we know is a legendary camera phone.
So, head over to SF, and enjoy the article!

New NSeries release date confirmed!
Written by Meraj Chhaya on April 11, 2008 – 10:27 pm
We had a close talk with someone inside Nokia, and we got a confirmation on the launch date! The best thing is that it’s not one device being officially launched, it’s three, and that should be the minimum.
Nokia usually launches them in fours, ironic, as this digit is considered bad luck in some countries. Read more »

New NSeries in the making?
Written by Meraj Chhaya on March 27, 2008 – 6:26 pm
If you guys didn’t know, Cybette, or Carol Chen is the Senior Integration Engineer at Nokia, so the last thing this should be is a fake rumour. Carol wrote that "it’s NXX on the spec sheet in front of me and N00 on the proto" which tells us that it cannot be a N96, but a new unreleased model.
Most of us wondered if it was a Touch UI device, which wasn’t fully answered, but the tip makes me believe that it is the new generation of S60 phones. "as for touch, it’s a touchy subject, so i will not touch it," wrote Carol.
What we can really do is only speculate…

Nokia N82 Black version - it’s official (again)
Written by Meraj Chhaya on March 18, 2008 – 4:08 pm
I guess we can say this is "re-officialised", the N82 Black version was spotted long ago in some websites, and it was confirmed by Nokia when some bloggers caught it in Nokia’s website.
Now, Nokia officially releases it, and dedicated a press release to it. I believe they are trying to give it a second life, calling again for attention, filling the N96 waiting gap.
Nothing new on the specifications side, the N82 continues the same old story, with an improved software and looks. When I say software, I’m guessing that geotagging features will be built-in, and it will be friendlier to the Ovi platform. I might be wrong here, this is just my opinions.
What will definitely give fame to this N82 will be the Urbanista Diaries and Stavros, master of Position Art, and clear winner at Nokia for the funniest man award.
"The Nokia N82 is made for storytelling," says Juha Kokkonen, Director for Nokia Nseries devices. "As one of Nokia’s leading-edge connected camera, the Nokia N82 in black captures people’s journeys and discoveries. With built-in A-GPS it even helps people to find new places by pairing ‘contextual’ information with a wide array of connectivity features such as Wi-Fi and HSDPA. We make it easy for consumers to quickly share those moments as they happen."

FM transmitters are here to stay
Written by Meraj Chhaya on March 17, 2008 – 4:40 pmBroadcasting audio output over FM radio can be useful, especially in a car, and it can be a replacement of the Bluetooth headset or car kit.
Let’s try with a Nokia N95, which doesn’t have a FM transmitter built-in, but you can get one from any shop, at a cheap price.

You are going to hate me for that horrible flash that ruins the pictures, but I only get time at night to do write these articles, and at night….well there’s no sunshine.
