Verizon Wireless employees have unlawfully accessed Barack Obama's mobile phone account. The details that might have been accessed were the numbers Obama had called, how long conversations with those people were and when he called them.
A spokesperson for the Obama administration revealed that the President-elect's voice-mail messages and emails were not accessed, and that the account was no longer active.
The network's CEO and president Lowell McAdam issued a statement with an apology to Obama, and saying that the employees who accessed the account without justification will face disciplinary charges. However, Verizon has already placed the employees involved in immediate leave with pay.
Verizon's privacy policies are now in question, on how far employees can go into a user's account and with what privileges, not only for USA's President-elect, but for the consumer in general.
