BASKING RIDGE and NEW YORK, USA - Verizon Wireless has launched the Casio G'zOne Rock in its network. The rugged phone is idea for adventures, as it is filled with suitable apps and provides the necessary physical resistance.
The G'zOne (pronounced "jeez one") comes preloaded with apps such as a compass, pedometer, thermometer, sunrise and sunset timetables, and astronomical calendar, some of these apps powered by the built-in GPS receiver.
In physical terms, the phone withstand water, shock, dust, vibration, humidity, salt fog, solar radiation, altitude, and high and low temperatures, thanks to its 810F military specification.
The clamshell phone also has an external display, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, touch-sensitive music controls, and a microSD memory card slot.
The phone will cost US$149.99 in a two-year contract, with a US$50 mail-in rebate. Release date at stores is scheduled for the 30th of November.
